How to Google Docs Voice Typing Android

When I started working at Google Docs, I discovered many advantages over a regular text editor.

We rarely write only on computers, of which many have at least two — work and home, and also have tablets and smartphones. Of course, there is e-mail and flash drives, but Google Docs is much more convenient. If you want How to Freeze Rows and Columns in Excel.

My experience: I have Google Docs on all devices, and I can open the same document on any of them — computer, tablet, smartphone — and make changes. About smartphones: for many years I had iPhones, now I have an android. The screenshot on the left is the screen of my smartphone. On an iPhone, the microphone icon is located differently.

But Google has another advantage: it recognizes speech well. I have tried a lot of “dictation” because the question of fast typing is very relevant for me.

Text input using voice is available in the version of Google-documents for “large” computers, as well as for mobile devices. Now I have an Android smartphone and an ios tablet. Voice test dialing is possible from all devices.

To work together phone-computer (tablet-computer), you need to log into your account from two devices. You need to do this once, then all documents are opened by default.

My favorite way of voice typing a test in google docs:

  1. Open a document on Google Drive on a computer connected to a large TV as a monitor. (I have not watched Russian television for many years).
  2. I open the same document on my phone (or iPad) and start dictating the text.
  3. I check the correctness of the set on a large monitor (TV).

Practical advice:

  • Sign in to google drive,
  • Open or create a “New Document”.
  • Go to the menu in the “Tools” section, select “Voice input”. Check the language — the default is English. If the voice input comes from a smartphone, then you need to click on the “microphone” icon on the keyboard. The “microphone” is also on the keyboard of the new iPad.
  • Dictate the text. Google will record.

“Go to read a lecture, maybe I’ll understand something myself” — speakers often joke. When I sit down at the computer to write an article, two of my “best selves” immediately turn on — a procrastinator and a perfectionist. The first one whispers in his ear — “let’s go have some tea and think again”, the second mutters into the other ear — “everything is bad, bad, bad, well, who writes that?”
